While some may move easy into retirement, Harry Longstreet has forged ahead into new territory. After twenty-five years of working in television & film, he has turned his attention to his longtime passion for fine art photography. Recent work has been accepted in more than fifty national juried exhibitions and his first one man show was held at the Roby-King Gallery in 2006.
Throughout the ‘80s and into the early ‘90s, Longstreet logged countless hours as a writer/producer/director on network and cable television. Among the many episodic series he has worked on, most notably were cult favorites “VOYAGERS”, “ALIEN NATION”, and “The X-FILES”. Additionally, he served as executive producer on the final season of the long-running series “FAME”.
As his career progressed, so did his talents. And the ‘90s found him directing original made-for-television projects such as “SEX, LOVE, & COLD HARD CASH”, starring Jobeth Williams, “A VOW TO KILL”, starring Richard Greico, “THE PERFECT DAUGHTER”, starring Tracy Gold and Bess Armstrong, and the award winning “FROG GIRL: THE JENNIFER GRAHAM STORY”, which earned him a Humanitas Nomination and a Genesis Award.
Over the years, he has received two Writer’s Guild Nominations for Writing Achievement and even made the leap to feature film by having his original script “Wounded” produced.
Now living on Bainbridge Island in Washington, Longstreet’s time is split between his wife of thirty-one years, five children, six grandchildren, two dogs and his never-ending search for the “next great shot”.
